• fixed a stack overflow bug, which causes mcShoutCast to crash.

Changes:

• mcShoutCast uses the windows event log service to log error messages.
  Therefore a so called EventSource needs to be registered. The registration needs the security settings of an Administrator. If the Windows Media Center was not started as and Administrator, mcShoutCast won't start.
  The registration of the EventSource will now be done during the installation of mcShoutCast.

Changes:

• Last.FM will be preferred for the picture searches.
• The lyrics page has the ability to change the font size and also the automatically scrolling speed  of the text is changeable.

New features:

• Biography for the current artist, if available in the local language and in English.
• Backdrops:
  High resolution background pictures of the current artist at all of the “More with the current song” Plug-Ins.
  The mcShoutCastBackdrops program (start->programs->mcShoutcast) provides the ability to manage the pictures. You can also provide some alias names for the artist (“Beyonce”, “Beyoncé or “Pink”, “P!nk”).
  Here you can also adjust the setting for the automatically download behavior.
• Playlist:
  Starting with a single song, the playlist will search matching songs from your Music library and add them to the playlist. The result will be an endless self extending playlist.
  There are some options to adjust the behavior. There are two playing modes:
  a) by similar artist
  b) by similar song
  
  The search algorithm uses Last.FM. You don't need an user account from Last.FM.
  
  Settings:
  
  • percentaged of similarity for the artist: A higher value means the artists are more similar.
    The algorithm queries the top50 songs or the first 30 most similar artists. That is a list of 1.500 possible songs. The algorithm checks up this list of songs at your local music library.   
  • percentage of similarity for a song: A higher value means the songs are more similar.
    We found out that there is almost no song with a higher value of 10% available.
  • songs to add: For each search iteration that amount of songs will be added to the playlist.
  • gab between songs of the same artist: To get some variation, you can set the amount of songs that needs to be between songs of the same artist.
  • gab between identical songs: Like the “gab between songs of the same artist” you can set here the distance between identical songs.
  
  It really depends on which artists and songs Last.FM provides and which of them you have got in your music library.
  
  The “Sampler/Compilations” issue:
  mcShoutCast prefers the album artist for the search algorithm. If the album artist is a “Various Artist”, the song artist is used.
  
  The term “Various Artist” is language depending and may also be a total different term.
  At the text file “C:\ProgramData\mcShoutCast\VariousTerms.txt” you can specify which terms should be evaluated as “Various Artist”.
  
  An example for the evaluation:
  
  a)
  Album:            : “Hits 42”
  Album artist: “various”
  song artist: “Rolling Stones”
  song: “Paint it black”.
  McShoutCast uses “Rolling Stones” and “Paint it black”, since the term “various” is listed at the “VariousTerms.Txt” file.
  b)
  Album:            : “Aftermath”
  Album artist: “Rolling Stones”
  song artist: “Mick Jagger”
  song: “Paint it black”.
  McShoutCast uses also “Rolling Stones” and “Paint it black”, because “Rolling Stones” is not a term listed at the “VariousTerms.Txt” file.
  
  There were some discussions about that behavior during the beta test, since the song artist is “Mick Jagger” and not “Rolling Stones”. We checked the Last.FM search results and for both terms and Last.FM provides better results with “Rolling Stones” as the artist.
  

Changes:

• More with this Artist. The MusicBrainz service (http://musicbrainz.org/) wasn't reliably. Depending on the phase of the moon the identical artist was found or not.
  After I changed to the Discogs service (http://www.discogs.com) I have to recognize that it takes to long to gather the need information. Based on the MusicBrainz data (public domain) I worte my own Web service.

New features:

• The lyric for the currently played artist can be requested. Therefor I use the LyricsFly (http://lyricsfly.com) and LyricWiki. (http://lyricwiki.org/) services
• Concert dates can be requested. Therefor I use the eventful ( http://eventful.com/) service. There is a new settings page for the basic search parameters.
• Support for a locally installed SHOUTCast server. There is another settings page for the server parameters. This server will be displayed at your favorites.
• Starting with this version, mcShoutCast doesn't restrict itself only to internet radio. The gallery, slide show, more with this artist, lyric and concert information can also be requestest from different contexts of your music library. There is a new menu item at the Music strip which gives you the access to these information for the currently played song. Also at your music library page you can request these information within the context of an artist, album, song or a playlist. In this cases the song doesn't need to be played to get the information. To request the information, hit the „info“ button (right click with your mouse) and choose „More“ from the menu. Than there will be a submenu displayed with icons for the functions.

New Features:

• Integration of MusicBrainz.
  You have got the option to get, for the currently played artist, all the Albums, Singles and Booltlegs information. Click at the „Now-Playing“ section and choose the option.
  If the MusicBrainz information contains a Amazon referenz, the cover will be display.
  If you click at a displayed item (Album, ...) the title information will be displayed.

Bugs fixed:

• the play list parser can now handle „HTTP-Redirects“ to get the playlist.
• More robust parsing of mail formed ASX playlists.
• The Licence-Manager starts now with administration rights.
• Amazon search: The search term must be at least three charaters long.
• Speed up the start up
• The stations of the ShoutCast „R&B“ genre will now be displayed

New features:

• Web Images:
  If you cklick at the „now playing“ section, a new pop-up dialog will be displayed. There you can choose to display the images of the current playing artist as a gallery or a slideshow.
• There is a new settings page to adjust the behavior of the web images:
  • Minimum width and height of a picture
  • Maximum number of images to be searched
  • For the gallery mode: „ask before starting a new search“
  • For the slideshow mode: „Display duration for a photo“
