To add a new program (station) you should have a few things available:
- The URL of the Playlist or Streams where the station broadcasts its
program. You need also to know which Bit Rate and Format that the
station provides its streams.
- Nice, but not a required, will be the station logo.
- Go to http://en.mcetoos.de and register yourself. You will get a
confirmation email with a verification code. That code is needed to
activate your account. Verification is needed to get minimal spam protection
for the database.
- Choose at the top menu the item "LauraFM". LauraFM is the online
Database.
- Click on the "+" (add new station) symbol to open the station
details dialog.
- Enter in:
- the Stations name
- the url of the station’s homepage
- choose the country where the station is located
- click on the "upload file" button to choose a locally stored
station logo to upload to LauraFM.
Now you have entered in the basic information.
The equally important part is the url of the playlist or single stream.
mcShoutCast supports Playlist in the Formats ".pls", ".mu3" and ".ASX".
- In the section "Address (Url's) of the data stream.
- Click on "+" (add new address)
- In the field "Data url:" enter in the playlist url,
- In the field "StreamBitRate" enter in the Bit Rate
- In the field "Stream Formate" choose the encoding format
- Click on the save symbol at the front of this row to save that data!
- If the station broadcasts the same program in different Bit Rates or
Formats, please repeat Step 1 for each of them.
If the station provides additional programs it is much better to add a
new station.
- In the section "Genres of that program"
- Click on "+" (Assign a additional genre to the station)
- choose a genre. Repeat this step to add more genres.
- Click on the save symbol at the front of this row to save that data!
Now click on the link "Update" to save this new program.
The next time you start mcShoutCast, the new station data will be
downloaded.
